What the Heck is Quantum Physics?
Wikipedia defines quantum physics or mechanics as “a branch of physics providing a mathematical description of the dual particle-like and wave-like behavior and interaction of matter and energy.” What the heck does that mean?
The first time I started to learn about Quantum Physics was in a movie called “What the Bleep Do We Know?” I rented it from my local library and I know of friends who rented it from Netflix. It really took watching this movie several times before I could start understanding quantum physics and its effect on my life.
The very basic concept of quantum physics is the study of the building blocks of the universe. What I found very interesting is these building blocks are not made up of matter, or things you can touch and feel. The universe is made up of energy which is more like thought or bits of information.
The movie goes on to say that each of us has grown up thinking and believing our external world is more real than our internal world. But because of findings in quantum physics the opposite is true. Our inside world (beliefs, thoughts, fears) creates what is happening in our external world. I think this is very fascinating. What does this mean? This means you and I can change our world by changing our beliefs, thoughts and fears. One step further, we are now responsible for what is happening to us and the good news we can create the world we want to live in. We can take back our power.
There is one scene in the movie which totally illustrates quantum physics in action and the power of thought. A Japanese scientist named Dr. Maseru Emoto studied the effects thoughts and words have on water molecules. He took water from a Japanese damn and had a Zen Buddhist priest say a blessing. He also took distilled water put it in several jars with a different message on each jar and let them sit overnight. The messages were:
- Chi of Love
- Thank You
- You make me sick. I will kill you.
Dr. Emoto took samples of the water, put them under a microscope and took pictures. The results were amazing. The samples from the Buddhist blessed Chi of Love and Thank You bottles had formed beautiful crystal structures; while the ‘you suck’ sample formation was very scattered and ugly. (I urge you to watch this movie to see the pictures. You can also go to www.masaru-emoto.net for more information on his studies)
Just think our bodies are made up of 97% water. What do you think your beliefs, thoughts and fears are doing to your body?
